World famous Portuguese artist Paula Rego has a museum in Cascais, next to the Museum of the Sea, dedicated to her art known as the Casa das Histórias. Admirers of Rego’s work can view her paintings and engravings as well as works of her late husband Victor Willing in this gallery.
Paula Rego studied at the Slade School of Art in London. She moved to the UK permanently in 1976.
The building, designed by Eduardo Souto de Moura, also houses a shop which sells Rego’s books and other gift items, and a cafeteria.
