- There are several food and drink festivals around the country in which local produce such as sausages (choriços), cheese, wine, olive oils, etc are served and sold.
- Essencia do Vinho is one organisation which holds regular festivals in Lisboa where top chefs from the finest restaurants hold workshops, cooking classes, and various other events and visitors can sample dishes as well as learn how to cook and try out some good wines. The Lisbon Fish & Flavours Festival (Peixe em Lisboa) will take place from 12th to 22nd April 2012 at the Pátio da Galé, Terreiro do Paço, in Lisbon. - Chocolate in Cascais
The Cocoa Club of Portugal organised a chocolate festival in October 2009 at the Cidadela de Cascais.
There were exhibitions, conferences, workshops and competitions and it is hoped to hold this event every two years.
